INK AND SKETCHPAD
When traveling, the minimalist art equipment is pen and paper. Easy to locate, easy to carry, and great for quick artworks...or ones that take several days. I enjoy seeing the ink flow onto the paper, the bold contrast between the ink and the surface. Sometimes I'll draw something on site...but more often I do my drawings later so I can enjoy the experience (and take lots of photos)!
Young Kookaburra
This little one posed for a number of photos on my way back from the beach one day. Such a cutie with such soft, fluffy-looking feathers!

Jenolan Caves
One of my favorite places in Australia. Home to platypuses and amazing caves. It's got something for everyone...except a gas station and a grocery store! This image is from a travel sketchbook.
